Today I went outside to check on the boys and when I asked Patrick what they were doing, he said, "we are playing golf with sticks and balls." They were indeed using literal sticks. Patrick then proceeded to tell me that I should take some pictures and send them to Pappy because "He likes golf and he would like to see us golf like him." So I did post pictures and it made my heart sing to find out that my niece Bethany brought those pictures to my dad who is lying in a hospital bed as he continues his battle against cancer. Thank you Bethany!!
This week has been filled with so many ups and downs. I feel like I am on an emotional rollercoaster. The one thing that keeps me grounded is my husband and my kids. They are my joy amongst the chaos and drama of the day to day world. My dad is very ill and it is difficult to be so far away, yet I feel somehow it is better than to have to see him suffer. I pray for him to have peace.
